How Heritage Joiners handles personal information collected through this website and through our Facebook Page integration.
Last updated: 25 September 2026
Who we are
Heritage Joiners is a carpentry and joinery business based in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, operating this website at https://heritagejoiners.co.uk. We are the data controller for personal information collected through this site.
If you have any question about this policy or about information we hold, please get in touch through our contact form.
Information you give us
When you make an enquiry through the contact form on this website, we collect the name, email address and message you provide. If you contact us by phone or WhatsApp instead, we hold whatever you choose to tell us in that conversation, including your phone number.
We only ask for what we need to answer the enquiry. You do not need to create an account to use this website, and we do not take payments through it.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, this site records basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and the site or search that referred you. This is standard server and analytics data.
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes requests to the site, including IP addresses, as part of delivering and protecting it.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used — which pages people read, roughly where visitors are from, and how they arrived. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to do this. We use it to improve the website, not to identify individuals.
The contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that submissions come from a person rather than an automated script. Turnstile may set a short-lived cookie as part of that check.
We do not use advertising cookies, remarketing pixels or cross-site tracking on this website. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; the site will still work.
How we use your information
- To answer your enquiry and discuss the work you are asking about
- To quote for, arrange and carry out joinery and carpentry work
- To keep ordinary business records of work done and enquiries received
- To run and maintain this website and keep it secure
- To understand how the website is used, in aggregate
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
Service providers we share with
We share personal information only where it is necessary to run the website or respond to you:
- Cloudflare — website hosting, security, and the Turnstile check on the contact form
- Resend — delivers contact form enquiries to us by email
- Google — website analytics
- Meta — in connection with our Facebook Page and the integration described below
We do not pass your details to anyone else for their own marketing.
Facebook and Meta Integration
Heritage Joiners operates an internal Facebook integration called “heritage integration”. It is used solely to manage and publish content to the Heritage Joiners Facebook Page and is not offered as a service to other users or businesses.
The integration may process limited Facebook Page information necessary to operate it, such as Page identifiers, access permissions, and the information required to publish or manage content on the Page.
- Facebook data is not sold.
- Facebook data is not used for advertising, profiling or any unrelated purpose.
- Data is used only as necessary to operate the Heritage Joiners Facebook Page integration.
- Any data retained for the integration is kept only as long as reasonably necessary for that purpose.
If you believe the integration holds personal data relating to you, you can contact us about it, or request deletion. See the Facebook data deletion instructions.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to deal with them and to keep a reasonable record of work quoted or carried out. Analytics data is retained according to the settings in Google Analytics. Information held for the Facebook integration is kept only as long as the integration needs it. When information is no longer needed, it is deleted.
Keeping it secure
The website is served over HTTPS. Access to enquiry records and to the Facebook integration is limited to those who need it to run the business. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and in some cases to receive it in a portable format.
To make any of those requests, use our contact form and tell us what you are asking for. We will respond within the time allowed by law.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
