Oak Joinery in Pontefract, Wakefield & West Yorkshire

Oak joinery, hardwood joinery, reclaimed timber, Accoya windows, iroko worktops, and good softwood all behave differently. Rob uses hardwood and softwood experience to choose timber that suits the job, the building, and the level of exposure.

Choosing green oak, Accoya or hardwood joinery

Different jobs want different materials. Green oak behaves differently from seasoned oak. Reclaimed timber can bring real character, but only if it is stable enough for the intended use. Accoya makes sense in some external settings where durability matters.

Material choice is part of the joinery judgement, not an afterthought. Movement, grain, moisture, finish, fixing, and the surrounding building all matter.

Reclaimed timber advice, not a timber yard

Heritage Joiners is not a timber yard. This service exists because clients often want to know whether oak, reclaimed timber, green oak, iroko, Accoya, or a simpler softwood is the right material for their joinery.

Rob's answer is based on the work the timber needs to do, not a merchant list.
